Domaine Paul Pillot

Burgundy
Côte de Beaune

Domaine Paul & Thierry Pillot, located in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1900 by Jean-Baptiste Pillot, a barrel maker by trade who decided to focus full-time on his vines.

Currently managed by Thierry Pillot, the fourth generation of the family, the estate spans 13 hectares, primarily planted with Chardonnay, and includes esteemed premier cru sites such as Caillerets, Grandes Ruchottes, and La Romanée.

Thierry, who took full control of the domaine in 2004 after starting there in 1999, has gained recognition for producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

In addition to managing the family estate, Thierry has launched a micro-négociant project to source grapes from trusted growers, allowing him to explore new techniques and work with a broader range of appellations. His top cuvées include Meursault Genevrières, Perrières, Charmes, and Puligny Caillerets, among others. Emphasizing that great wines are made in the vineyards, Thierry’s natural and straightforward winemaking approach, with minimal use of new oak, results in precise, terroir-driven wines.

The domaine’s holdings consist mainly of some of the best terroirs in St-Aubin as well as vineyards in the communes of Chassagne & Puligny Montrachet. The domaine is also the owner of a very small plot of Bienvenues Batard Montrachet.

Under Thierry’s leadership, Domaine Paul & Thierry Pillot has become one of the most respected estates in Chassagne-Montrachet, producing wines that are both elegant and expressive, showcasing the exceptional quality of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune.
