Domaine de La Pousse d'Or

Information

The Domaine de La Pousse d'Or at Volnay was established in 1954 although it can be tracked back to the Dukes of Burgundy and the year 1100. Its vineyards are anything but ordinary, consisting entirely of premier and grand crus in the villages of Morey Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Corton, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. The domaine's 17 hectares yield 90,000 bottles annually and are managed in a spirit of respect for terroir. Since 1997, its new owner Patrick Landanger has invested considerable resources both in the vineyards and in the vilification and elevage facilities.

Elegant and well balanced, the wines of La Pousse d'Or typify their terroirs. Vines cultivated without chemicals inputs, natural and unhurried vilification, maturation in oak barrels (30% new wood) for up to 18 months with careful attention to details. The wines show real potential for long term aging.
