Champagne Savart

Champagne

Frédéric Savart is the third generation of this fine Champagne domaine. The Champagne house was founded after World War II by Frédéric’s grandfather, René Savart, who made his first vineyard purchases. During the 1970s, his son Daniel took over, but production remained small until the mid-1980s, when he began aggressively acquiring more vineyards for the domaine. Despite this expansion, it has remained a small domaine by Champagne standards. Today, it consists of only 4 hectares under vine: 3 in the village of Ecueil and 1 in the village of Villiers-aux-Noeuds. Almost 90% of the vines are Pinot Noir, with less than half a hectare planted with Chardonnay.

The vineyard management follows a philosophy of disease prevention rather than cure.

After harvest, fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, and élevage is mostly done in oak barrels.

The Champagnes of Savart are pure, terroir-driven wines, with fresh, zesty acidity that makes them extremely enjoyable.
