Domaine Antoine Jobard

Burgundy
Côte de Beaune

Domaine Jobard is one of the great estates in Meursault, with Antoine Jobard continuing the fine work of his father, François, since inheriting the domaine. The estate has a history spanning five family generations, dating back to 1860.

Antoine, the only son (he has two sisters), joined his father François at the domaine in 2002 and took full responsibility in 2007 after his father’s retirement. This 4.8-hectare domaine boasts a stunning lineup of vineyards, primarily in the commune of Meursault. It includes six cuvées: two village-level wines and four premier crus, with important holdings in Charmes, Porusots, and Genevrières. Antoine’s philosophy centers around the belief that the most crucial work is done in the vineyards, ensuring that the terroir is expressed with purity and precision.

The winemaking is traditional, with up to 20% new oak used, and standard barriques are employed for fermentation and aging. The wines are aged for an extended period, typically 18-24 months, longer than is customary in the region. The resulting wines are classic, mineral-driven, and complex Meursaults that are particularly renowned for their long bottle-aging potential.

Today, the domaine farms around 7 hectares of Chardonnay vines, mainly in Meursault. The estate’s high-quality Meursault wines remain at the core of the production, crafted in a traditional style and known for their remarkable aging potential. The total production of the domaine is around 2,000 cases per year.
