Domaine de la Bergerie de l’Arcade
Languedoc Roussilon
Domaine de la Bergerie de l’Arcade is located in Pouzols, in Languedoc , Southern West France. It belongs to Pascal and Gilles Soulas , from a family of farmers who used to cultivate fruit trees. They learned winemaking alongside the great winemaker Laurent Vaillé of Domaine de la Grange des Pères. Since the very beginning they adopted organic and manual means to treat and manage their vineyards and throughout the wine making process.
Their first vintage they marketed was 2016, and since day one the wines got Cult status due to their incredible complexity and finesse without the heaviness many wines of the region are known for. Production is tiny. Their wines often feature rich fruit flavors balanced by woody notes, delivering a sensory experience that reflects the unique terroir of the region.
The red is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels then 10 months in vats.
Since our long and close relationship with Laurent Vaillé (Unfortunately Laurent died unexpectedly few years ago in tragic circumstances), POB managed to get on board and secure nice allocation with this fine domaine since it just started, and just before the demand and prices of their wines started to soar. We are excited to share these unique wines with our customers.
