Giulia Negri

Italy

Giulia Negri, often referred to as “Barologirl,” is a pioneer winemaker from Italy’s Langhe region. At just 24 years old, she took over her family’s historic Serradenari estate, the highest point in Barolo, which has been under her family’s stewardship since 1880.

Negri seamlessly integrates innovation with tradition in her winemaking approach. While she specializes in Barolo—viewing it as an evolving art form—she also explores Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, driven by a spirit of curiosity. Her wines have gained international recognition for their elegance and complexity. Notably, her 2018 Barolo Marassio has been praised for its refined, aromatic profile, featuring vibrant red cherry notes and a palate marked by both concentration and freshness.

Under her leadership, the Serradenari estate now exports to 35 countries, reflecting her dedication to showcasing the unique characteristics of her terroir on a global scale. Negri’s evolution from an inquisitive young vintner to a respected figure in the wine industry highlights her ability to balance tradition with forward-thinking craftsmanship.
